M & M's

Markets and Motorcycles....

Vietnam has markets much similar to other Asian cities.  But, one must shop when presented with markets in the city and when they are on every corner....

You can buy fish and have it cleaned right on the street

Talk about crowded isles...

Markets are one stop shopping, you can find fruit next to the fabrics which are located next to the handicafts which is by the shoe outlet and you only have to move ONE STEP!

Off to work

Lots of smells and colors

Vietnam drive thru
Vietnam's motorcycle ratio is a whopping 1 in 4, in a country of about 80 million that is a lot of bikes!  It has become the "family"car.  Many times you see four on a bike, two parents and two kids - plus their load on the back!.
And they are OFF!

Water anyone?

Valet Motorcycle parking...I am NOT kidding

Typical side street
The air quality can be low in the city due to the cycles and not the cars.  I think the worst part is the NOISE pollution.  The honking is deafing at time.  No real rules, go when you want, driving on the sidewalk is okay and honk you horn every 25 feet or so!

I can't believe you're actually seeing those things in person. It looks just like something you'd see in the movies. I SO want to be there with you.
